A specialist recruitment partner is seeking an experienced
Sales Manager / Commercial Business Development Leader to drive growth within a well-established Australian services organisation operating across infrastructure, commercial, and essential service sectors.
This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for
new business development, key account growth, and commercial strategy execution across complex, project-based environments.
You will be actively involved in the market — opening doors, developing opportunities, and leading deals through to closure — while also working closely with senior leadership on pipeline, strategy, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development and revenue growth across project and service streams
- Manage and grow key strategic client relationships
- Identify and convert new market opportunities and pipeline growth
- Lead commercial negotiations, tenders, and contract close-out
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned to business objectives
- Partner with internal estimating and delivery teams to progress opportunities
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, and commercial visibility
- Represent the business at client meetings, events, and industry forums
- Support smooth transition from sales to delivery teams
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or Commercial Leadership role
- Background in construction, infrastructure, utilities, electrical, fire, communications, or similar service-based industries
- Strong track record of winning new business and growing revenue
- Experience managing complex sales cycles, tenders, and contracts
- Strong stakeholder engagement with enterprise or government clients
- Commercially strong with excellent negotiation and closing skills
- Confident working across both strategy and hands-on business development
- Strong pipeline management and forecasting capability
- Ability to work autonomously and drive outcomes
