Evacuation Diagram & Client Coordinator – AutoCAD
Permanent part-time | Three days per week | Fitzroy North
$35.40 per hour plus superannuation
COAD88 Evac Plan is seeking an experienced and detail-focused coordinator to assist with evacuation-diagram drafting, client management, site visits and business development.
This role requires excellent AutoCAD skills and some existing knowledge or experience in evacuation planning, fire safety, building compliance or related technical documentation. Training will be provided in COAD88 Evac Plan’s specific systems and procedures; however, applicants should already have a general understanding of this type of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update evacuation diagrams using AutoCAD
- Read and interpret architectural plans and building documentation
- Manage projects from initial enquiry through drafting, approval and installation
- Communicate and build relationships with clients
- Attend sites to collect information, take measurements and confirm building details
- Install completed evacuation diagrams
- Follow up enquiries, quotations and prospective clients
- Identify opportunities for new and repeat business
- Maintain accurate project and revision records
- Review evacuation diagrams prepared by another team member
- Submit your own work for independent quality checking
- Identify and correct errors or inconsistencies before final issue
About You
You will need:
- Excellent 2D AutoCAD skills
- Previous experience producing technical drawings or plans
- Some relevant experience or knowledge of evacuation diagrams, fire safety, emergency planning, essential services or building compliance
- Ability to read architectural or building plans
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong client-service, communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence approaching prospective clients
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Reliable and appropriately insured vehicle for work-related travel

Knowledge of any of the following Australian Standards will be highly regarded:
- AS 3745:2010
- AS 4083:2010
- AS 2444:2001
- AS/NZS 2293.1:2018
- AS 1670.1:2018
- AS 1851:2012
Direct experience preparing evacuation diagrams would be a significant advantage.
Training will focus on COAD88 Evac Plan’s templates, quality-control processes and internal procedures. This position is best suited to someone who already has relevant industry exposure and can develop into the role without extensive foundational training.
