Perched on the waterfront at The Spit, Mosman, Chiosco by Ormeggio is a lively Italian trattoria where fresh seafood, house-made pasta and warm, relaxed hospitality come together in one of Sydney’s most beautiful dining locations.

We’re looking for an experienced Section Waiter who loves hospitality, thrives during a busy service and takes pride in looking after their guests from the moment they sit down to the moment they leave.

The Role
As a Section Waiter, you’ll take ownership of your section and play an important role in delivering the warm, energetic and professional service Chiosco is known for.
You’ll build genuine connections with guests, confidently guide them through the menu, make thoughtful food and wine recommendations and work closely with the wider floor and kitchen teams to create seamless services.
This is a casual position offering approximately 25–35 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours as we move into our busier trading periods.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience managing your own section in a busy restaurant environment
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Strong food and wine knowledge, with confidence making recommendations
- Experience with Italian food and wine highly regarded
- Confidence carrying three plates and working efficiently during busy services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, energetic and team-focused approach
- Current NSW RSA Certificate
- Full Australian working rights
- Flexibility to work across weekdays, evenings and weekends
- SevenRooms experience advantageous, but not essential
What You’ll Be Doing
- Confidently manage your own section from guest arrival through to departure
- Provide warm, knowledgeable and attentive table service
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Guide guests through our Italian menu and wine offering
- Recommend food and wine pairings based on guest preferences
- Maintain strong communication with the kitchen, bar and wider floor team
- Set, clear and reset tables efficiently throughout service
- Prepare and serve coffee to venue standards
- Anticipate guest needs and help create memorable dining experiences
- Support your teammates to ensure every service runs smoothly
