In this role, you'll:
We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Plant Operator (grade 2) to join the District Works Mid North Coast team based in Port Macquarie.
You prioritise the safety of yourself and others at work, both physically and mentally.

In this role, you'll:
- Perform maintenance and manual labouring at a Road Worker grade 3 - including tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools when not operating plant.
- Competently and safely operate a variety of plant including tractors, excavators, skid steers, rollers with minimal supervision.
- You will carry out safety inspections, basic maintenance, and resolve issues using procedures with supervisors
- Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise.
- Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards.
- Work a 9 Day Fortnight.
In addition to the above, there may be requirements to work outside of normal working hours and away from home.
This position is based in Port Macquarie and forms part of the maintenance team.

About you
We are looking for experienced Plant Operators who has the capability to work under limited supervision and has experience in maintaining a safe and injury free workplace for all employees.
Essential Tickets and Licence:
- White Card
- Plant operator tickets and/or documented competencies
- Labouring experience in a construction or civil environment or road worker experience and understanding of local road networks across the district.
It is desirable you have
- A truck licence (MR or higher)
- Traffic control qualifications – stop/go bat and or implement traffic control
We are seeking those that reside within a 70 km travelling distance from the Port Macquarie Dept as you will be on call when required.
Whilst not required, experience in operating plant (excavator, bobcat, padfoot/smooth drum roller) is advantageous.
