About The Position: We are now seeking to recruit a detailed-oriented Cook who is keen to demonstrate and develop the skills to join our dynamic kitchen in South Australia. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals, ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen, maintaining cleanliness and upholding food safety standards as well as assisting with food presentation and supporting the team in delivering high-quality dishes across the following tasks:
- Washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits & vegetables to prepare them for consumption;
- Carving and trimming foods to ready them for different dishes;
- Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes & personal judgment;
- Regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters;
- Seasoning and cooking foods according to recipes & personal judgment;
- Turning & stirring foods to ensure even cooking;
- Observing and testing foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently;
- Portioning, arranging, and garnishing dishes, and passing them to wait-staff for service;
- Estimating food requirements and storing foods in temperature controlled facilities;
- Minimising food wastage and maintaining excellent hygiene standards;
- Assisting in training other kitchen staff where required.
About The Candidate: The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or relevant higher degree qualifications in related fields with 1 year of relevant experience.
