In this role, you'll:
The Senior Advisor Operational Policy provides expert advice and delivers complex operational policy and regulatory initiatives across boating safety, waterway access and amenity, pollution control and maritime products. The role is responsible to develop, analyse and review strategic and operational policy and legislation that supports informed decision making.
Working collaboratively, you will research emerging issues, manage complex regulatory, policy and consultation projects, liaise with Legal Services, and represent NSW Maritime on inter agency and TfNSW committees. You will also promote understanding of legislation and operational procedures through stakeholder engagement, training and presentations, while contributing to team capability through performance feedback and development support.

About you
Your policy and legislative analysis, stakeholder engagement and regulatory advisory skills, developed across government, regulatory and policy focused roles, will see you excel in delivering sound, evidence based policy advice, managing sensitive and complex issues, and achieving accurate outcomes within agreed timeframes. You bring rigour, consistency and compliance to support effective operational policy outcomes and informed decision making.
You are recognised as a trusted advisor and collaborative leader, demonstrating strong judgement, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Skilled at analysing complex policy and legislative issues and translating them into clear, practical advice, you are experienced in regulatory policy development, cross government collaboration, and influencing outcomes through teamwork and constructive leadership.
The salary for this position is Transport Maritime Officer MA15 ($162,721.00) per annum plus superannuation. This is a permanent role and is located in Rozelle-Sydney . No costs, allowances, or exceptions to TfNSW vehicle policy will be provided in relation to travel to and from the Rozelle office to conduct the duties of the role.
