What you'll be doing
Youth Mental Health Initiative (YMHI) Senior Clinicians will provide trauma informed, culturally safe, intensive therapeutic interventions and integrated psychosocial responses to young people experiencing complex and severe mental health concerns. They will also provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to ensure the delivery of strengths based and recovery orientated mental health care and treatment.
The Youth Mental Health Initiative (YMHI) is a new youth mental health service that aims to improve early access to care for 12 – 25 years presenting to headspace services with severe and complex mental health needs. The YMHI will enhance youth mental health supports in Southern NSW by improving integration across services.
The YMHI senior clinicians will be part of the local specialist Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) Community Mental Health teams, with time co-located within the headspace centres. SNSWLHD YMHI senior clinicians will work together with headspace to enhance youth mental health pathways and services. This will be achieved by collaborating with partner agencies, developing streamlined referral pathways and ensuring timely transition of care between the partner services.
