About the role
As a Stadium Services Officer (SSO) at Basketball SA, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our basketball facilities. Joining our team in a casual capacity, you will be responsible for assisting patrons, maintaining venue cleanliness, and contributing to the overall experience for all visitors.
The Stadium Services Officer facilitates the smooth running of games to provide a safe, secure, and positive environment for all players, coaches, referees, spectators, and stakeholders. Stadium Service Officers are the face of Basketball SA within Basketball South Australia venues.
What you’ll be doing

Greeting and assisting patrons with inquiries, directions, and any other customer service needs.

Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our basketball venues, including courts, seating areas, and public spaces.

Actively monitor games, including player, coach, and spectator behaviour. Be visible on the court and accessible to players, referees, coaches, team managers and spectators.

Provide active support, communication, teamwork and leadership to the referee team and other stadium staff.

Responsible for impartially resolving conflict and appropriately managing situations to encourage and uphold Basketball South Australia’s Codes of Behaviour.

Collaborating with the broader Basketball SA team to create a positive, welcoming atmosphere and culture for all visitors.

Confident with iPad technology, apps and registrations.

Flexibility working in multiple venues.

Previous experience working with referees or in a sporting landscape is highly desirable.

A passion for basketball and a desire to contribute to the growth and success of the sport in South Australia.

Other information
Basketball venues are located throughout the Adelaide Metropolitan area. Having a reliable mode of transport is highly desirable as this role will require you to travel between stadiums.

Flexibility to work at multiple stadiums is highly desirable.
Shift Times
Shifts will be rostered between the following hours:
Monday – Friday : 3.15pm – 10.45pm
Saturday : 8.00am – 12.45pm
Sunday : 5.45pm – 9.00pm
