Tintern Grammar seeks to appoint an experienced and passionate Acting Head of Learning Enhancement Junior School to lead our Junior School Learning Enhancement team while providing high quality teaching and support for students with additional learning needs.
About the Role
This is a 0.8 FTE position comprising:
- 0.4 FTE Position of Responsibility Head of Learning Enhancement (Junior School)
- 0.4 FTE Junior School Learning Enhancement Teacher
Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the successful applicant will provide educational leadership for the Junior School Learning Enhancement team, oversee the provision of learning support programs, coordinate Learning Enhancement services, and work collaboratively with teachers, families and external professionals to ensure students with additional learning needs are supported to achieve their potential.
This role also includes a teaching component, providing direct support and intervention for students while modelling best practice in inclusive education.
This is a fixed term, leave replacement position commences Term 1 2027,for the duration of 2027 school year.
About You
You will be an experienced and collaborative educator with a passion for inclusive education and demonstrated leadership in Learning Enhancement. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Current VIT registration
- Relevant teaching qualifications (qualifications in Special Education highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with additional learning needs in a Junior School setting
- Proven leadership, mentoring and staff management skills
- Experience leading and supporting Learning Enhancement programs and intervention initiatives
- Strong knowledge of assessment data and the ability to interpret diagnostic reports to inform teaching and learning
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with students, parents, colleagues and external professionals
- Highly developed organisational and administrative skills, including coordinating Learning Enhancement programs and supporting NCCD processes
- A commitment to inclusive education and evidence based teaching practices
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the broader life of the School
- Strong digital literacy skills
