Job Description
We are looking for skilled technicians to join our freelance team for ongoing hardware replacement tasks at client data centers in Brisbane.
As a technician, you will be called upon to replace server components on an as-needed basis. You are not required to accept every task – you can choose only the tasks that fit your availability.
Scope of Work (SOW)
You will be responsible for replacing the following server components:
- Motherboard
- HDD (Hard Disk Drive)
- SSD (Solid State Drive)
- PSU (Power Supply Unit)
- PDU (Power Distribution Unit)
- Fan
Required Tools
You must have your own basic toolkit, including:
- Standard screwdriver set (Torx T-series preferred)
- Keyboard
- Monitor
- Mouse
- Laptop (Windows) – for documentation and basic troubleshooting
- Console cable (RJ45 to USB) – optional but preferred
Availability Requirements
- For motherboard replacement tasks: Must be fully available during weekday working hours
- For other tasks: Flexible – you can choose tasks based on your schedule
- Weekend tasks are possible but rare
Requirements
- Proven experience replacing server hardware (motherboard, HDD, SSD, PSU, PDU, fan)
- Own required tools (keyboard, monitor, mouse, screwdriver set)
- Basic English communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to follow technical instructions
- Must be based in or near Brisbane, QLD
- No visa sponsorship available – this is a freelance role
