Working alongside our NATA-accredited laboratory, our Hazardous Materials team provides asbestos and hazardous materials management, assessment and advisory services to an established client base across the construction, facilities management, transport, insurance and government sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a full-time HazMat Consultant to join our Brisbane-based Hazardous Materials team.
Approximately 75% of your time will be spent in the field across Southeast Queensland, with the remaining time focused primarily on report writing and project documentation. Occasional travel to regional locations and interstate may also be required.
What you will be doing:
- Conduct asbestos and hazardous materials surveys on industrial, commercial and residential properties.
- Undertake Clearance inspections and airborne asbestos fibre monitoring in relation to asbestos removal work.
- Complete contamination and post remediation verification assessments for asbestos, mould, moisture, and other contaminants.
- Conduct occupational hygiene surveys or monitoring.
- Produce hazardous materials and occupational hygiene reports.
- Conduct respirator face fit testing when required.
- Perform laboratory analysis (fibre counting) for airborne asbestos.
- Ensure client deliverables are issued within a reasonable timeframe.

Experience and qualifications:
- Preferred 12 months’ experience in Hazardous Material consulting or similar work.
- An LAA licence will be highly regarded.
- Science, environmental or hazardous materials qualifications, including relevant P-Certs, are desirable.
- A current Australian driver’s licence is essential.
