What you’ll do:
As Team Leader Payroll, you’ll lead a team of payroll professionals responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant payroll services across Santos’ domestic, offshore and expatriate workforce. You’ll provide strong hands-on operational leadership to ensure payroll practices meet all regulatory requirements, and champion continuous improvement to enhance the employee experience and efficiency of our payroll function. Building trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business, you’ll play a key role in delivering the strategic priorities of Payroll and People & Culture while ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time, every time..
Key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role include:

Leading, coaching and developing a team of Payroll Officers by providing clear direction, setting of performance expectations and the conduct of regular performance reviews to achieve high performance and engagement

Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability

Managing workload allocation and resource planning to ensure service delivery standards are met

Management of the Payroll team ensuring delivery of an accurate, compliant and on-time payroll

Managing payroll cut-off dates and payment schedules

Overseeing end-to-end payroll processing for designated employee populations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and company policies
What you’ll bring:
You’ll bring demonstrated experience in payroll leadership or supervision within a complex, medium to large organisation, with a strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes, Australian payroll legislation, awards and enterprise agreements. You’ll have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, along with strong knowledge of payroll systems, HRIS platforms and compliance requirements.
Experience in payroll system implementations, significant change initiatives, audit coordination and compliance management will be highly regarded. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy will be essential to your success in this role.
Ideally, you will be degree qualified or demonstrate significant training and experience within directly relevant role(s), within large corporate environments.
