Casual, Ongoing position available.
Up to $35.72 - $43.46 per hour + applicable Casual Loading.
Parkville location, with multiple transport options at our doorstep.

The Role
This is a casual Grade 1 radiographer role reporting to the Chief Radiographer. Shifts will be day shifts located at Parkville with allocatations based on your availablility and rostering requirements.
Modality training will be provided in areas you are already familiar with- focus will be on XR (including mobile radiography), angio and CT.
Being a casual radiographer will provide access to learning systems and programs within Peter Mac including the inhouse CPD sessions. You will also have opportunity to apply for ongoing roles when they arise.

Position Summary
To perform duties as a Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) within the Cancer Imaging Department at the direction of the Chief MIT.
To perform general examinations under the direction of the modality supervisors. The following modalities are considered essential for basic radiography – general XRay, mobile and theatre X-Ray and fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy and basic angiography. Appropriately skilled MIT’s may undertake CT, mammography and/or MRI training.

Essential Requirements
Qualification in Medical Radiations Science or equivalent
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Possession of a radiation use license
Responsible professional attitude and ability to demonstrate good rapport with both patients and staff members

A willingness, desire and ability to progress to more advanced imaging

1. Perform routine radiographic examinations and some more advanced imaging (see essential requirements) with accuracy and due patient care
Correctly produced imaging as per department protocols
2. Participate in the care, maintenance and quality assurance of the equipment in the imaging department
Quality control implementation for relevant imaging equipment
3. Attend and contribute to regular staff meetings
Regular attendance at staff meetings
Input to discussion when requested or relevant
4. Keep abreast of new imaging procedures, techniques and technology
Documented participation in Continuing Professional Development activities
5. Observe all relevant hospital and department policies and procedures
Undertake programs and activities by People and Change and the Cancer Imaging department. Comply with Peter Mac and Cancer Imaging policies.
6. Perform any other duties as directed by the Chief MIT
Perform as an effective member of the Cancer Imaging team (to be assessed at annual performance review)
