About the role
The Medical Educator works with Training Coordinators and Program Support Officers to provide contextually relevant education and support to a designated group of practices, their supervisors and their registrars.
The role supports registrars from entry into the program through to fellowship. Facilitating small group peer learning, practice visits and one on one support. The Medical Educator also develops strong working relationships with their registrars, supervisors and practices over of course of the training program to understand local needs and individualised training and support required. A generalist role for a defined area within the region covering multiple practice locations. As a result, regular travel may be required to regions around Perth, Western Australia.
As our Medical Educator, you'll also:
Provide targeted support and education for GP registrars, guiding them from entry into the program through to fellowship via peer learning sessions, one-on-one support, and practice visits.
Collaborate with Training Coordinators, Program Support Officers, and external partners to ensure high-quality outcomes for registrars and practices.
Build strong relationships with registrars, supervisors, and practices, tailoring support to local needs for optimal training and progress.
Support supervisors with professional development and in-practice teaching, promoting general practice as a career and strengthening rural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander training pathway

Skills & Experience
RACGP fellowship (or equivalent) and a passion for medical education
Hold current Australian specialist registration in general practice without addenda
Experience in teaching or mentoring registrars, medical students or peers will be highly valued
