Woodgrange Specialist Equine Hospital located in Bayles Victoria seeks a full time equine nurse with extensive experience in advanced reproductive techniques including but not limited to OPU, ICSI and embryo transfer.
The candidate must be reliable and work well in a high pressure environment alongside team members.
The hours are Monday to Friday as well as weekend and overnight shifts during the reproductive season and on call rotation.
Tasks may include but not limited to:
- Safely handle and restrain animals for examination and treatment by Veterinarians
- Correct cleaning and sterilisation of tools and equipment
- Preparation of correct instruments appropriate for the particular examination/procedure and handing them to the Veterinarian
- Assisting Veterinarians in administering anaesthetics and oxygen during operations or procedures
- Monitoring animals recovery from anaesthetic and procedures
- Administering medications to animals
- Maintaining stock control and appropriate records
- Provide animal care advice, and preparing, delivering, and reviewing animal care education programs
- Perform diagnostic laboratory tests
- Reception work including answering and directing phone calls, invoicing and processing payments
- Animal husbandry for animals under treatment
Minimum Cert IV in veterinary nursing.
Salary commensurate with experience. Range $80,000-$120,000 (includes all Out of hours, weekend, public holiday and on call penalty rates)
Pay: $80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
