Happy Hearts Avalon Early Education & Care is a privately owned boutique early learning service located on Sydney's Northern Beaches. We are committed to providing exceptional early childhood education through meaningful relationships, high-quality teaching practices and a strong focus on children's wellbeing.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to undertake the additional leadership responsibilities of Educational Leader within our service.
Salary
- $43.54 per hour
- Educational Leader Allowance (in accordance with the Children's Services Award)
- Full-time permanent position (38 hours per week)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and evaluate educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Observe, assess and document children's learning and development.
- Plan engaging, play-based learning experiences that support each child's individual needs.
- Foster warm, respectful and responsive relationships with children and families.
- Mentor, coach and support educators to improve teaching practice and curriculum outcomes.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing review of the educational program across the service.
- Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and Child Safe Standards.
- Guide educators in reflective practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Support the preparation and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
- Maintain accurate documentation, records and reports.
- Work collaboratively with the Centre Director and leadership team to achieve service goals.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development and centre initiatives.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment for all children.
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS) and relevant legislation.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring and coaching skills.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must:
- Hold an ACECQA-approved Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent qualification).
- Have at least one (1) year of full-time post-qualification experience as an Early Childhood Teacher.
- Hold current Teacher Accreditation/Registration (or be eligible to obtain registration in New South Wales).
- Hold a current Working With Children Check.
- Hold current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or be willing to obtain before commencement).
Desirable
- Previous experience as an Educational Leader or in another educational leadership role.
- Experience preparing for Assessment and Rating.
- Experience mentoring educators and leading quality improvement initiatives.
Pay: $43.54 per hour
