About Blue Box
We believe resistance training is the foundation of lifelong health and vitality.
We’re not interested in fads, quick fixes or random hard sessions. Everything we do is intentional and designed to help our members build strength, improve movement and fitness, and support their long-term health.
Since opening in February 2024, we’ve expanded our timetable, grown our community and built a culture centered on strength, movement, connection and longevity.
Our small-group strength sessions are capped at 10 so members receive genuine coaching and individual attention. We follow structured programming, adapt training to the person in front of us and aim to create a gym people enjoy showing up to consistently.
We’re now looking for an experienced coach who shares that philosophy and wants to become an important part of the next stage of Blue Box.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality coaching across our group timetable while also helping grow our 1-to-1 and beginner pathways.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coaching small-group strength and conditioning sessions across morning, lunchtime and evening timetables
- Delivering 1-to-1 personal training, with leads and opportunities provided
- Running Beginner Intro Sessions and new-member inductions
- Helping new members build confidence and transition into group training
- Managing session flow, timing and individual coaching within a group environment
- Modifying exercises, loads and ranges of motion around injuries, mobility restrictions and individual needs
- Communicating with physiotherapists and allied health professionals when required
- Participating in team meetings, coach development and upskilling
- Supporting community events and the wider Blue Box member experience
Part-time role with a clear pathway to grow for the right person.
The role will begin at around 10-12 sessions per week, depending on the successful candidate’s availability, with a clear pathway to build toward 20+ sessions across group coaching, personal training and our growing beginner pathways.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves strength training and enjoys coaching the general population across different ages, abilities and training backgrounds.
You should be comfortable coaching complete beginners, experienced members and people returning to training after injury or time away.
You’ll also need to practice what you preach, value your own training and development, and care more about meaningful long-term progress than simply making sessions hard.
Must Have
- Certificate III and IV in Fitness
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Previous coaching experience in a similar strength or small-group environment
- Experience delivering personal training
- Confidence coaching the fundamental strength lifts
- A solid understanding of programming and periodisation
- The ability to coach and manage up to 10 members while still providing individual attention
- The ability to modify training around injuries, mobility needs and different ability levels
- Strong communication, reliability and professionalism
- Integrity, initiative and no ego
Nice to Have
- Level 1 Strength and Conditioning qualification
- Experience running beginner consultations, inductions or movement assessments
- Experience working alongside physiotherapists or other allied health professionals
