About the Role:
We are seeking a support worker for afternoon community access shifts in Tingalpa (approximately 2 hours per shift on Thursday).
This position is ideal for someone familiar with Australian culture who can provide relaxed, respectful companionship and everyday support in home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build friendly, one-on-one rapport through conversation and support
- Assist with light errands, walking, or shopping in the local area
- Wear a mask and follow infection control guidelines
- Be comfortable around pets (the client has a dog)
- Promote independence in a calm and culturally respectful manner
Participant Information:
The participant is an independent individual who values support workers who are culturally aware and familiar with Australian social norms, such as clear communication, respect, and a positive attitude.
Requirements:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- COVID-19 Infection Control Training (preferred)
- Strong cultural awareness and understanding of Australian social values
- Australian work rights
