About the Role
Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Registered Nurse to join the team at Barraba Multipurpose Service. Barraba Multipurpose Service is a small rural healthcare facility within Hunter New England Local Health District, providing integrated healthcare services to the local community. Services include:

Community health services
The facility offers a supportive and collaborative workplace culture where staff are valued and encouraged to develop professionally while delivering essential healthcare services to the residents of Barraba and surrounding communities.
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care across acute care, emergency presentations, residential aged care, and community health services. You will play an integral role in supporting patients, residents, and families while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans

Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively in accordance with NSW Health policies and clinical standards

Respond appropriately to clinical deterioration and emergency situations

Provide compassionate, person-centred care to patients, residents, and their families
-
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and electronic health records

Work collaboratively with medical, allied health, and support staff within a multidisciplinary team

Supervise and support Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) where appropriate

Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation activities

Promote the values, standards, and professional expectations of NSW Health and HNELHD

Demonstrate adaptability and autonomy while working in a rural healthcare setting
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement

Flexibility and adaptability in a rural healthcare environment

Sound knowledge of infection prevention, medication safety, and clinical documentation standards

Additional information:
- Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
