Client Director – Major Water Clients Sydney
Make a lasting impact on Greater Sydney’s water future. We’re seeking a Client Director to lead and further develop our strategic relationships with major clients across the water sector.
The opportunity
As a Client Director, you’ll play a key leadership role in setting client strategy, deepening relationships, and ensuring excellence across bids and commercial outcomes. You’ll work closely with our technical leaders to enable smooth delivery. You’ll bring the best of our organisation - engineering, advisory, digital, and delivery together to solve complex challenges across water, wastewater, networks, assets, and capital programmes for major clients.
Reporting to the General Manager – Water, you’ll join our Water business group and primarily be responsible for:
- Leading client strategy and account plans for major clients in Sydney, aligned to their priorities and our growth ambitions.
- Build and sustain strong senior relationships across major clients and key partners; act as a trusted advisor.
- Identify opportunities early and oversee high quality bids.
- Drive delivery excellence and client satisfaction, working with project leaders to address risks, performance, and value.
- Manage commercial performance including pricing, contracts, governance, pipeline health, and forecasts.
- Champion safety, quality, sustainability, and social outcomes across all engagements.
- Develop and coach a high‑performing client team; foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and accountability.
- Represent the organisation at industry forums; stay close to market, regulatory, and technology trends.
About you
You’re a senior professional in the water sector who has led major client accounts or programmes and enjoys shaping outcomes with and for others. You bring a practical understanding of client outcomes, asset management, capital delivery, networks, sustainability, and digital or the curiosity and growth mindset to build this quickly. You’re known for growing clients, sound commercial judgement, and confidence navigating panels, D&C, alliances, and long term programmes, alongside excellent stakeholder, influencing, and communication skills. Most importantly, you lead inclusively and can lead diverse teams and partners towards shared goals, creating space for different perspectives, and role modelling collaborative ways of working.
