We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our busy commercial kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking meals while ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality
- Organising kitchen operations to support efficient food service during busy periods
- Assisting with the creation and improvement of menus and specialty dishes
- Monitoring inventory levels, arranging stock orders, and reducing unnecessary food waste
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- Coordinating food preparation activities with other kitchen team members
- Checking portion sizes, plating, and overall meal presentation before service
- Controlling cost and budget the kitchen.
- Recruit, monitor, train and supervise kitchen team
- Ensuring all kitchen practices comply with workplace health, safety, and food safety regulations
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or equivalent qualification
- At least 1 year of full-time experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills
- Skills relevant to commercial cookery, menu preparation, stock control, and kitchen coordination
