The Retail Lease Transactions Team is responsible for negotiating and executing lease documentation to support the lease strategy for all new and existing leases across the CBA national retail and ATM property portfolio.
We are currently seeking an experienced property leasing professional to join the Retail Lease Transactions Team on a 12-month contract, covering an internal secondment.
Do work that matters:
As a Senior Retail Lease Transactions Manager you will advise stakeholders across the business and will play a key role in managing critical dates, and negotiating complex lease documents and ATM licences across the national retail portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring all transactions are delivered on time and in line with CBA’s commercial objectives and baseline requirements.
On any given day you will:
Instruct and collaborate with CBA’s panel lawyers on lease transactions
Manage critical lease dates, project work and reporting obligations to support portfolio objectives
Negotiate lease documentation (in conjunction with external legal counsel) to manage legal and operational risk
Co-ordinate the sign off and execution of lease documents ensuring compliance with CBA’s delegations and power of attorney
Interpret complex lease provisions and provide commercial advice to the broader leasing team
Assist the Retail Leasing Managers and Property Managers and other stakeholders in the conduct of sales and acquisitions of freehold property, market rent reviews, and dispute matters
Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing retail lease transactions
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Sound understanding of property contracts, the retail tenancy legislation and other relevant property laws
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
A qualification in law or property is advantageous but not essential.
