- Three year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension
- Salary $120,000 to $130,000 per annum plus up to 15.75% superannuation.

About the role:
As Senior Financial Accountant, you will provide expert financial leadership across the organisation, ensuring statutory compliance, high-quality financial reporting and informed decision-making. You will lead the preparation of the annual budget and statutory financial statements, coordinate external audits and contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting processes and governance frameworks.
What you’ll bring to the role:
The ideal candidate will align with the City’s Values and be able to demonstrate the below competencies:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Substantial experience in a senior financial / management accountant position, preferably in Local Government.
- Highly developed knowledge of Accounting Standards and concepts.
- Understanding of the Local Government Act and associated Financial Management Regulations.
- Significant experience with large ERP or financial systems, such as Technology One.
- Demonstrated experience or ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management in development of budgets and various financial reporting tasks.
- Experience in staff supervision/guidance.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Pre-employment requirements:
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
- Proof of right to work in Australia.
- Pre-employment medical (arranged and paid for by the City).
