Whalers Restaurant is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Duty Manager / Shift Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience in coffee, cocktails, customer service, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily restaurant operations
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support the team during busy service periods
- Prepare high-quality coffee and demonstrate strong latte art skills
- Mix and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits to a high standard
- Assist with staff training and development
- Manage opening and closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, food safety, and workplace regulations
- Maintain a positive and professional team environment
Essential Requirements
- Current Approved Manager Certification (required)
- Previous experience in a supervisory, duty manager, or hospitality management role
- Advanced barista skills, including latte art
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, mixology, spirits, wine, and bartending
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
