Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Plumbing Estimator to join our growing team. This is a key sales-focused role responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for plumbing projects, building strong client relationships, and closing sales opportunities. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical plumbing knowledge (including troubleshooting) with sales and negotiation skills to deliver profitable projects and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for residential, commercial, and/or industrial plumbing projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to identify project requirements and potential risks.
- Conduct site inspections, perform troubleshooting assessments, and utilise jetter and CCTV camera equipment to diagnose issues and inform accurate scoping and pricing.
- Liaise with clients, architects, builders, and suppliers to gather necessary information and clarify project scope.
- Present estimates and proposals to clients, negotiate terms, and close sales.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plumbing products, materials, pricing trends, and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with the operations and installation teams to ensure estimates align with project delivery capabilities.
- Follow up on submitted quotes and manage the sales pipeline.
- Assist with tender submissions and contract reviews as required.
- Provide ongoing support to clients throughout the pre-construction phase.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plumbing Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or in a similar sales/estimating role within the plumbing or construction industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, installation methods, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience operating jetter (hydro jetting) equipment and CCTV camera systems for drain and sewer inspections.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
- Current Australian driver’s licence (essential).
- Trade qualifications in plumbing are highly regarded but not mandatory if equivalent experience is demonstrated.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
