The Tamworth Harness Racing Club has a position available for a Racing Manager to handle all aspects of its Raceday and Trials operations. The Tamworth Club stages 32 TAB race meetings per year and is the 6th largest harness racing Club in the state, with race meetings predominately on Thursday afternoons and trials on Tuesday evenings.
The Club has exhibited strong growth in the last ten (10) years and it would be expected that the successful applicant be able to continue this trend, growing strong ties within the local community and the broader industry network. Growing and engaging with the sponsors of the Club is an important step in enabling the Club’s growth to continue.
This is a hands-on position which will require assisting other Club staff with the many tasks that are involved in the running of the operation.
The successful applicant will report to the Secretary Manager but will also need to work effectively with the Board of the Club.
Strong abilities in communication, computer skills and electronic technologies are desirable and will be looked on favorably, as would holding qualifications in Business Management or equivalent, however on-job training will be provided.
Renumeration is negotiable, dependent on the level of experience and skills of the applicant. There will be a probationary period involved.
