THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Wellbeing Coordinator (Special Needs) to join a dedicated and collaborative leadership team. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for driving student wellbeing, inclusion, and learning support initiatives, ensuring students with additional needs are empowered to achieve their full potential.
As a senior leader, you will collaborate with staff, students, families, and external stakeholders to implement wellbeing strategies, lead specialised learning support services, and promote inclusive educational practices across the school. You will provide leadership and mentoring to teaching and support staff, contribute to strategic planning, and champion a culture of belonging, engagement, and positive outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee student wellbeing, inclusion, and learning support programs across the school.
- Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.
- Provide leadership in positive behaviour support, wellbeing frameworks, and evidence-based support strategies.
- Coordinate and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), specialised support programs, and student interventions.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external agencies to ensure students with additional needs receive appropriate support.
- Lead, mentor, and support teaching and support staff within the department.
- Foster a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement, inclusion, and student success.
- Support staff development through coaching, professional learning, and performance guidance.
- Contribute to strategic planning, curriculum initiatives, and school-wide wellbeing programs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant education legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to support positive student outcomes.
- Contribute to school initiatives, community engagement activities, and the promotion of organisational values.
- Recognised teaching qualifications and current NESA Accreditation.
- Minimum five years' teaching experience, with demonstrated leadership experience in a Head of Department, Head Teacher, Wellbeing Coordinator, Learning Support Leader, or similar role.
- Proven experience supporting students with additional needs, disabilities, or diverse learning requirements.
- Strong understanding of student wellbeing, inclusive education practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current WWCC, NDISWC, and NSW Driver’s Licence.
- Experience working within special education, specialist education, or inclusive school settings.
- Qualifications or professional development in special needs education, wellbeing, counselling, or learning support.
- Experience leading wellbeing, inclusion, or student support programs.
- First Aid qualification.
