About the role
German Community Services Inc. is seeking a qualified Diversional Therapist to deliver structured leisure and activity programs for older people within a CHSP-funded, centre-based service.
The role operates in a culturally specific aged care environment, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, with a focus on the German-speaking community.
Key duties
- Plan, coordinate and deliver diversional therapy and leisure activity programs
- Facilitate group and individual activities that support wellbeing and social connection
- Ensure activities are client-centred, culturally appropriate and aligned to client needs
- Support client engagement, independence and participation
- Maintain required documentation and reporting standards
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to deliver programs
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of activity services
About you
- Qualification in Diversional Therapy, Leisure and Health, Recreation Therapy or equivalent OR
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in aged care, community services or diversional therapy
- Experience delivering structured group programs for older people
- Strong communication, planning and interpersonal skills
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current driver’s licence
Highly desirable
- German language skills
- Knowledge of German culture and traditions
- Experience working in culturally diverse or culturally specific aged care settings
