The Albert Hotel is seeking an experienced and reliable Front Desk Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis.
This role is best suited to applicants who are comfortable working independently and remaining on-site overnight as the designated contact person for guest-related matters, operational issues and to assist in the unlikely event of any emergency situation requiring attention.
A regular roster is currently available, including Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday shifts.
Approximately 26 hours of active work per week, plus overnight duty periods.
Applicants who are available to work all listed shifts will be highly regarded.
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing Front Desk operations during the afternoon and evening, including guest check-ins and check-outs, reservations, guest enquiries, payments and general hotel operations.
This position involves working independently during evening periods and requires a high level of personal responsibility and initiative.
At the conclusion of each shift, you will remain on-site overnight as the designated contact person for guest-related matters and operational issues that may occasionally arise outside normal Front Desk hours, and to assist in the unlikely event of any emergency situation requiring attention. This is not an active overnight reception shift, and an overnight duty allowance is paid in accordance with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award.
Essential Requirements
- Previous hotel reception experience is preferred. Applicants with accommodation industry experience and strong customer service skills are also encouraged to apply
- Experience using a hotel Property Management System (PMS) is preferred. Experience using eZee PMS will be highly regarded
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Professional presentation and attention to detail
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as rostered
