Our Graduate Program is a structured development program over two years, designed to help graduates build the skills, experience and networks needed for a successful career in the water industry.
Through hands on learning, rotations and mentoring, you’ll work on meaningful projects that help deliver safe and reliable water and wastewater services while contributing to the sustainability of the East Gippsland community and environment.
Program Overview
Our Graduate Program provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the organisation while developing both technical and professional capabilities.
During the program you will:
Complete rotations across different teams or business areas in Sustainability and Infrastructure
Work on real projects that contribute to community outcomes
Receive mentoring and support from experienced professionals
Participate in structured learning and development opportunities
Build connections across the organisation and the broader water sector

Our Graduate Program is open to applicants who have recently completed, or are about to complete, a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a range of specialist areas including:
Civil Engineering
Chemical / Process Engineering

Throughout the program you’ll receive ongoing support through mentoring, coaching and professional development. You’ll be encouraged to explore different areas of the business and develop the skills needed to build a long-term career in the water industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the delivery of operational, technical, environmental or business projects.
- Collecting, analysing and interpreting data to support business decision-making.
- Contributing to project planning, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting research activities and investigations into emerging industry trends, technologies and practices.
- Preparing reports, presentations and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Participating in team meetings, site visits and learning activities.
- Collaborating with employees across a range of departments and disciplines.
- Completing a final project summary or presentation outlining key learnings and outcomes.
