About the Role:
Provide educational counselling and support services within schools to ensure that the best possible assistance services are available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families and communities.
Provide cross cultural awareness training to the broader school community.
Responsibilities:
Provide educational counselling, advocacy, and support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and families.
Develop and deliver programs that promote student engagement, participation, and educational success.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with families, community organisations, and support services.
Promote understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures, perspectives, and protocols within the school community.
Provide cultural advice and support to school leaders and staff.
Coordinate and utilise school-based programs and resources that support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
Ensure culturally relevant information and resources are accessible across the school community.
Strengthen collaboration and positive relationships between students, families, schools, and communities.
