Our client, located in Rutherford, is a respected and trusted partner specialising in high voltage electrical and engineering services for the mining industry. A family owned and operated business of over 35 years, they take pride in their impeccable safety record and long-term customer relationships. We are looking for an experienced General Manager to provide excellent leadership and management of all aspects of the business.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This full-time permanent position is responsible for providing leadership and management to all employees and to ensure a sustainable and profitable business.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensuring compliance with Statutory Legislations and Company Policies including ISO9001, Work Health & Safety, environmental and government legislation
- Ensure the day-to-day operations of the organisation are effectively and efficiently conducted by the Management team and that adequate resources are available
- Ensure a system of operational checks, maintenance, security, calibration and recording of assets of all workshop equipment and vehicles is implemented and sustained to meet the statutory, manufacturers and company policies
- Ensure professional proposals for customers are on time, to specification and to company terms and conditions
- Organise and lead monthly and weekly management meetings
- Oversee the Quality Assurance system
- Provide effective employee management, ensuring clear and concise responsibilities for all employees, performance reviews and training plans
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, ensuring excellent customer service and on-time delivery
- Carry out sales and business development activity
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts and ensuring financial targets are achieved
- Manage inventory and source products from suppliers, ensuring durable supply chains and maintained supplier agreements
ABOUT YOU
- Previous management experience at a senior level.
- Business degree or similar (desired)
- Strong commercial acumen and business development experience
- High attention to detail
- Mining and/or heavy industry experience
