THE ROLE
YMCA SA is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our ever‑growing gymnastics coaching team! We continue to strive for excellence by delivering fun, interactive, engaging, and safe gymnastics experiences for all. With a rapidly growing membership base and increasing demand for quality programs, we are seeking committed coaches who is passionate about gymnastics and eager to build a long-term career in the sport. We are looking for coaches to join us at the following centres:
- State Sports Park Gymnastics Centre
- Glengowrie Gymnastics Centre
- Seaford Gymnastics Centre
- O'Sullivan Beach Gymnastics Centre
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement safe gymnastics coaching sessions with an emphasis on enjoyment and progression
- Deliver excellent customer service using strong communication and problem-solving skills to address enquiries and concerns
- Assist in the development of all participants and provide relevant, constructive feedback to the relevant parties
- Ensure program and centre policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements are upheld
- Deliver excellent customer service using strong communication and problem-solving skills to address enquiries and concerns
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised gymnastics environment throughout each shift
- Participate in team development, training sessions and staff meeting
Our ideal candidate looks like:
- A basic understanding of all gymnastics apparatus and experience delivering engaging, progressive recreational gymnastics for a variety of ages
- Confidence in coaching across a range of programs and abilities (Recreational classes, inclusive programs, school groups, kindergym and mini-gym, adult gymnastics, birthday parties)
- Willingness to deliver gymnastics and movement-based sessions in school settings
- Demonstrated flexibility to grow within the role, including additional opportunities as time progresses
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- (HLTAID009) Provide CPR
- (HLTAID011) Provide First Aid
- RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care
- Current Gymnastics Australia Technical Membership
- Gym Sports Coaching Accreditation – Gymnastics Australia
