Work for a community based organisation making a real difference
ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Fleet Design and Technical Lead, the role undertakes quality assurance inspections during vehicle builds and following supplier delivery, ensuring fleet assets meet approved VICSES specifications, design requirements, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements and expected standards of workmanship and quality.
The role manages the identification, recording and resolution of defects and non-conformances, maintains accurate and traceable build QA records, supports Fleet Services with warranty claims and monitors supplier quality performance against contractual requirements. The position also supports the Fleet Design team with specification development and review and assesses supplier milestone submissions, providing recommendations to the Senior Fleet Design and Technical Lead and Fleet Design and Procurement Manager to approve, reject or seek further information or corrective action.
This is a non-operational technical role requiring strong attention to detail, practical knowledge of vehicle construction and fit-out, sound judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, fleet staff and technical specialists. The role requires travel, including interstate travel and overnight stays, to undertake quality assurance inspections at supplier and other locations, and may occasionally require work outside normal business hours.
