Purpose
Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, the Site Manger is an integral member of the EPC team supporting the BHP project.
The primary objective of the role is to provide support to the Construction/ Project Team overseeing all works at site. liaising with client representatives on site / contractors and visitors and ensuring the management plans are being followed by all persons attending site (visitors, contractors and workers)
Ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, as the critical link between high-level project strategy and on-site execution.
This is a FIFO role operating on a 16 days on / 10 days off roster , structured as follows:
- D ay 1: Travel to site
- Day 2: handover with back-to-back
- Days 3–14: Active duty as HSE Advisor on site
- Day 15: Handover with back-to-back
- Day 16: Travel home (no site attendance)
- Days 17–26: 10 days off
A professional and accountable approach is always required.
Major Responsibilities / Duties
- Contribute to and promote the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture at Clarke Energy
- Take responsibility for personal health and safety and ensure actions do not impact others
- Actively stop unsafe work practices
- Identify, report, and assist in rectifying health, safety, and environmental hazards
- Open site and close site ensuring site is left in a secure and safe state
- Ensure amenities are clean and always stocked and serviceable
- Ensure all personnel on site have followed all onboarding procedures and approved for site entry
- Prepare, conduct and record daily pre starts for the site team. Directing daily activities, managing subcontractors, and sequencing tasks to align with the master project schedule.
- Liaise with suppliers for coordinating deliveries, ensuring adequate laydown area, and unloading facilities and correct storage of equipment and materials
- Ensure adequate facilities for rubbish and removal
- Assist with general site inspections and participate in the field leadership requirements, and conduct SAOs
- Deliver toolbox talks as required
- Review and verify all SWMS using Clarke Energy checklists to ensure compliance
- Participate and conduct work shops with contractors to develop “work packs”
- Ensure there is Quality pack of ITP’s and ITR’s for all Installation works being undertaken by the Contractor or Clarke Energy personnel – in parallel signing off on the ITP’s and ITR’s as required or nominating a person to fulfil this role. Ensuring all QA is always up to Date
- Plan the works to ensure installation is completed efficiently - to ensure no hold ups/ lack of materials/ equipment on site to carry out the works, forward plan is essential
- Drawings, ensuring the contractors / Clarke Energy personnel are working to the latest revision drawings.
- Ensure Work is always carried out within the Safety Management plans guidelines
- Reviewing programme of works / Report back to Project team any potential delays to programme with enough time to mitigate any risk to loss time.
- Site Diaries, recording daily events and statistics on daily basis
- Attend site and project team meetings as required
- Demonstrate accountability and ownership of assigned tasks

Required Qualifications / Experience / Skills
- Significant industry experience, typically 5 to 10 years plus
- Proven track record managing projects, not just supervising tasks
- Experience overseeing multiple teams, subcontractors and project stages
- Experience managing budgets, timelines, and resources
- Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Civil or mechanical trade qualifications
- Qualified Statutory Supervisor under Schedule 26 of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 preferred
- White Card
- High risk work licences
- First aid certification
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts
- Understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and procurement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications:
- Word (Essential)

- PowerPoint (Desirable)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure environments
