We are looking for a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our dealership team as a Parts Assistant.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is starting out in the workforce and is keen to learn. No previous automotive experience is required. You will receive on the job training and support while developing practical skills across parts handling, stock control, warehouse operations, procurement and vehicle preparation.
This is primarily a hands-on, back-of-house role involving the receiving, unloading, unpacking, identification, storage and distribution of automotive parts and stock. You will assist with stock control, order preparation, computer data entry and general Parts Department duties, while also providing support to the Pre-Delivery team as required.
The successful applicant will be practical, organised and reliable, with good attention to detail and a willingness to get involved across the dealership.
About the Role
Working as part of the Parts team, you will assist with the day-to-day handling and organisation of automotive parts and stock.
You will be responsible for receiving and checking deliveries, unloading and unpacking stock, identifying and storing automotive parts correctly, maintaining stock bins and assisting with inventory control and order preparation.
You will also assist with the dispatch and delivery of parts when required and provide support to the Pre-Delivery team with vehicle preparation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities – Parts

Receive, unload and unpack incoming automotive parts and stock.

Identify automotive parts and components and ensure they are correctly recorded and stored.
-
Record and assist with locating all incoming stock.
-
Carry out storage and stock control procedures to maintain accurate inventory.
-
Pick, prepare and help department employees fill orders for sale and dispatch.
-
Assist with the safe handling, movement and storage of automotive parts and materials.
-
Maintain stock bins and ensure parts are stored neatly and in the correct locations.

Assist with stocktakes, inventory checks and general stock control.
-
Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and promptly.

Complete computer data entry and maintain accurate stock records.

Assist with parts sales activities and the preparation of parts for dispatch as required.

Deliver parts when required.

Assist with sourcing and purchasing non-stock items as required.
-
Check orders, picking slips, requisitions and purchase orders as required.

Assist with lost sales reporting and general Parts Department administration.

Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and organised parts and storage area.
-
Follow all workplace health and safety and materials handling procedures.

Assist other areas of the dealership when required.
Key Responsibilities – Pre-Delivery

Be the direct contact for the pre delivery team in sourcing, providing and unloading parts.

Assist the Pre-Delivery team with vehicle preparation and presentation.

Ensure exterior panels and glass are clean and presented to a high standard.

Vacuum and wipe down vehicle interiors.
-
Clean interior and exterior window glass, ensuring it is free from smears.
-
Pay particular attention to door and window rubbers, dashboards and instrument clusters.

Chamois vehicles as required.

Clean tyres and polish rims where possible.

Assist with general vehicle preparation and presentation duties.

Complete other Pre-Delivery duties as directed by the Manager.
About You

The successful applicant will:

Hold a current driver's licence.

Have a forklift licence (preferred) – can be arranged for the right candidate

Be physically capable of unloading, unpacking and moving automotive parts and stock.

Have good attention to detail and take pride in keeping work areas organised.

Be reliable, punctual and hardworking.
-
Be comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Be organised and able to accurately complete basic administrative tasks.

Have an interest in the automotive industry and a willingness to learn.

Be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Have a proactive attitude and be willing to assist wherever required.
