About Us:
Dawnellehome is a dynamic and inclusive therapy and education center dedicated to supporting children’s learning and development through creative approaches. We provide music, art, and therapy services that foster engagement, confidence, and social-emotional growth in children. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Kids Music Teacher who specializes in the Orff Schulwerk approach to lead our Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning music classes.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and engaging music teacher to lead parent-child music classes for children aged 3-5 and independent music classes for children aged 5-8. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Orff Schulwerk approach and a strong ability to create an interactive and enjoyable musical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging music classes based on the Orff Schulwerk method.
- Facilitate parent-child music sessions for ages 3-5 and independent music sessions for ages 5-8.
- Use movement, singing, rhythm, and percussion instruments to enhance learning and creativity.
- Adapt teaching strategies to suit diverse learning styles and developmental needs.
- Foster a fun and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children’s confidence and participation.
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child’s progress and class activities.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom space.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certification or training in Orff Schulwerk or a strong background in the approach.
- Experience teaching early childhood and primary-aged children in a music setting.
- Strong musical skills, including proficiency in singing and playing percussion instruments.
- Ability to engage children and parents in interactive and playful learning experiences.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one.
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required).
