Empowering Women, Transforming the World.
SOMA by Lorna Jane is a 22-acre private sanctuary in the Byron Bay hinterland, where nature and Lorna Jane's Active Living philosophy come together to create something truly restorative. We host intimate, immersive retreats and a boutique day spa for women ready to go deeper — and we're looking for a Retreat & Spa Coordinator to help hold that experience together, one shift at a time.
The Role
This is a casual, hands-on role for someone who's just as comfortable coordinating a treatment room as they are welcoming a guest with warmth and discretion. You'll be the calm, capable presence guests feel throughout their stay — setting the tone across the spa and the retreat program, while quietly making sure everything runs exactly as it should.
Day to day, you'll:
- Host and attend to retreat guests with warmth and discretion, including after-hours MOD phone coverage
- Be the guest's point of contact throughout the retreat program
- Set up, present and reset program spaces — think dome, fire pit, outdoor settings and residence
- Prepare treatment rooms and support facilitators so they can focus purely on their guests
- Manage spa reception, bookings and therapist coordination for retreat guests and day visitors
- Perform or coordinate massage, body and wellness treatments where qualified
- Look after the spa retail shop — presentation, stock and sales support
Who We're After
You're guest-oriented, operationally sharp and genuinely love making people feel looked after. You stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and you're the kind of person who takes pride in the details no one else notices. You work as a team player first, and you can flex easily between hosting, hands-on setup and spa operations without missing a beat.
You'll thrive in this role if you're adaptable, solutions-focused and excited by the idea of being part of something a little different — a workplace built on the same Active Living philosophy that's shaped Lorna Jane for over 37 years.
Desirable (not essential)
- Certificate or diploma in spa therapy, massage or a related wellness modality
- Experience in spa, wellness or premium hospitality
- Yoga or movement training
- Current First Aid and CPR
Why SOMA
You'll be working somewhere genuinely beautiful — think fig trees, fire pits and forest treatment rooms — surrounded by a team who believe in each other and show up for one another. It's meaningful work, in a setting that makes the "quietly capable" part easy to love.
Ready to be part of it? We'd love to hear from you.
