About Your New Role as an Import Team Lead
The Import Team Lead sits within the Operations department and reports to the WA Manager. This position will be responsible for leading the Import team and ensuring effective and efficient customer service.
- Supervising the Import (& domestic) team
- Liaising with and developing relationships with clients, contractors, customs and AQIS
- Attending meetings with company staff and clients when required
- Attending wharf and airport for high profile and priority shipments (if required)
- Liaising with other team leads and managers within company to resolve issues, improve work flow and productivity
- Personally manage import shipments that are high priority or high profile
- Approving all job files prior to disbursing or final invoicing
- Holding monthly Import team meetings
To be successful in this role
- Minimum 5 year’s experience in a similar role
- Previous leadership experience with a strong ability to drive, develop and motivate team members and exceed customers expectations
- Customer Service experience
- Current unrestricted drivers licence
- Dangerous Goods by Air / Sea & Road Accreditation
- Aviation Security – AACA
- Advanced negotiation and relationship skills
- Experience influencing and engaging key figures in client organisations
- Positive and professional attitude, especially when under stress / pressure
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- High attention to detail and strong planning and organising skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
