We are seeking a hands-on, motivated Parks and Gardens Team Member who takes pride in quality work, values teamwork, and wants to create safe, attractive and well-maintained community spaces.
About the Role
This is a practical, outdoor-based position where no two days are the same. You will help maintain and enhance our beautiful parks, gardens, reserves, and streetscapes, contributing to welcoming and functional spaces our community enjoys every day. From turf care and irrigation to landscaping and plant operation, this role offers variety, challenge and the chance to make a real difference.
What you will do
- Maintain parks, gardens, reserves and public spaces
- Perform turf care, gardening and irrigation tasks
- Assist with street cleaning, signage and line-marking
- Support roads, footpaths, drainage and concrete works
Plant & Equipment
- Operation and maintain ride-on mowers, tractors and plant
- Drive Council vehicles, including MR class trucks
- Keep equipment clean, safe and in good working order
Safety, Teamwork & Flexibility
- Follow OHS requirements and use PPE correctly
- Work safely to protect yourself, your team and the public
- Be part of a positive, supportive team
- Build skills through training and job rotation
- Support flexible hours and early starts
What you will bring
- Experience in horticulture, landscaping, or turf management (qualifications a bonus)
- A current MR Truck Licence
- White Card and Driver’s Licence essential
- Confidence operating a wide range of plant and machinery
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Customer-focused attitude and positive communication skills
- Commitment to safety and risk management
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable with early starts and flexible hours
A National Police Check will be conducted on the successful candidate.
