We’re GSA. We’ve been doing IT for Australian businesses since 2002, and these days we’re an ISO 27001-certified MSP with a client base that runs from state government agencies and local councils through to established SMBs. We do real infrastructure work, serious cybersecurity (Essential 8 ML1 through ML3), and modern Microsoft cloud delivery. We’re also deep into building AI into how we run the business and how we deliver for clients, so if that’s your thing, you’ll fit right in.
We’re hiring a Level 2 Systems Engineer to join the team at our West Melbourne office. You’ll own a portfolio of client environments, run your own projects, and get out on the road to client sites. If you like variety, this role has it. One week you might be migrating a council to Intune, the next you’re scoping a Hyper-V refresh for a vehicle rental company or plumbing Copilot into a client’s workflow.
What you’ll actually be doing
- BAU and escalations across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Active Directory
- Hyper-V and VMware admin, plus Azure workloads
- Running your own projects: O365 migrations, server refreshes, Intune rollouts, Conditional Access deployments
- Keeping backups honest with Veeam
- Onsite client work, scoping visits, and writing documentation that people actually read
- Hands-on with our Essential 8 and ISO 27001 security uplift projects
What we’re after
- 3 to 5 years in an MSP or multi-client environment
- Solid Microsoft 365 and Azure chops (Exchange Online, Intune, Entra)
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Virtualisation experience (Hyper-V or VMware)
- Backup tech, ideally Veeam
- Good written and verbal comms, because you’ll be talking to clients most days
- Someone who can own a piece of work end to end without being micromanaged
- Aussie driver’s licence and your own car (expect onsite visits most weeks)
Highly valued
- Microsoft certs (MS-102, AZ-104, MD-102). We pay for certs, so if you want to rack them up, we’ll back you
- AI skills. We’re actively building AI into our delivery stack: Copilot deployments for clients, internal automation, agentic tooling and prompt engineering. Anyone with hands-on AI or LLM tooling experience gets a serious look
- Essential 8 or ISO 27001 exposure
- Networking fundamentals (firewalls, VLANs)
- PSA/RMM experience (Autotask, Datto, N-able, ConnectWise)
What’s in it for you
- $75,000 to $80,000 plus super
- We pay for your vendor certs and training.
- Genuine variety. Government clients, cybersecurity, complex hybrid infra, AI projects. You won’t be stuck in one lane
- A team that automates the boring stuff so you can do the interesting work. We’re not a ticket mill
- A crew that actually likes each other, solves hard problems together, and gets out of the office for client work most weeks
- Fully onsite at our West Melbourne office plus regular client site visits around Melbourne. If you like being part of a team rather than a Slack avatar, this’ll suit you
Must have
- Full Australian working rights
- Based in Melbourne
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
