Swick Mining Services are seeking experienced Mechanical Drill Fitters to join our Engineering team at our South Guildford yard, to provide timely builds, repairs and overhauls required on all surface and underground equipment in the workshops and on site in order to ensure maximum quality and efficiencies are obtained. LV & HV mechanics welcomed.
The Role
Duties are (but not limited to) the following:
- Responsible for building, servicing, maintenance and fault finding on surface and underground equipment
- Ensure statutory servicing and testing is completed and service literature is recorded and forwarded to the maintenance planner
- Carry out servicing at surface, underground and Perth workshops
- Carry out troubleshooting and fault-finding on surface and underground equipment
- Ensure all paperwork is completed and signed off by relevant parties
- Participate in ordering and maintenance of relevant parts/stock
- Participate in the timely management of daily reporting and weekly payroll reporting completion and submission
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience working on drill rigs or heavy machinery
- Relevant trade qualification and certifications
- Basic hydraulic & electrical systems exposure.
- Effective in troubleshooting and quick problem resolution skills.
- Current manual C Class Driver License
- Current Forklift ticket
- National Police Clearance (within last 6 months)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screen)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety standards and hazard identification
- Attention to detail and time management
