Council is seeking a suitably qualified and motived person to join Council in the position of Building Surveyor.
The primary purpose of the position is to:
- Provide building certification services, including undertaking building assessments and inspections.
Salary and conditions: The role is graded at Grade 12-15 (depending on level of A4 to A1, BPB unconditional, qualification and experience) in Council’s salary system ($79,393.08 - $104,395.20 pa Pro Rata plus 12% superannuation). Council may open to negotiating a market rate depending on level of qualification (A3 and above) and experience.
The position is full time (35 hours per week) with one rostered day off per month. Part time may also be considered for this position.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
The applicant will have qualifications recognised by NSW Fair Trading for accreditation (minimum A3 Accredited Certifier) and/or Diploma level qualifications in Environmental Health or equivalent Diploma suitable for the role with at least two year’s relevant work experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to write standard reports, together with a demonstrated working knowledge of IT related systems are essential skills required in this role.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo a Functional Assessment which includes an Alcohol and Other Drugs screening.
