William Buck is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its professional services team. This role combines technical accounting expertise, taxation knowledge, business advisory services, and client relationship management while supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses and high-net-worth clients.
What You'll Do?
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Prepare financial statements, management reports, and compliance documentation.
Review bookkeeping and accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Taxation Services
Prepare and review income tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies, and partnerships.
Manage GST, BAS, FBT, and payroll tax obligations.
Identify tax planning opportunities and provide proactive advice.
Ensure compliance with Australian taxation legislation.
Business Advisory
Provide financial, strategic, and operational advice to clients.
Analyse business performance, profitability, and growth opportunities.
Support business restructuring, succession planning, and valuations.
Assist clients in achieving their long-term business objectives.
Client & Team Leadership
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Act as a key contact for client enquiries and advisory support.
Present financial insights and recommendations to clients.
Mentor and develop junior accountants.
Review work completed by graduate and intermediate team members.
Support workflow management and quality assurance processes.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
CA ANZ or CPA Australia qualification (or near completion).
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting standards.
Experience within public practice accounting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with Xero, MYOB, APS, or similar accounting software.
Strong analytical, communication, and client relationship skills.
Leadership and mentoring experience.
4–8+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
