About the role
We are looking for an experienced Control Operator to support real-time operation and control of MI’s water delivery network within our Network Control function.
This role is central to maintaining safe, stable and reliable operations across a large-scale automated system. You will plan and execute daily water delivery, monitor network conditions, respond to alarms and operational events, and coordinate field and system responses to maintain control of the network.
Success in this role requires sound judgement in time-critical situations, strong situational awareness, and a disciplined approach to operating within defined procedures and controls. You will routinely balance system constraints, customer requirements and operational risks to achieve consistent, reliable outcomes.
This is a rostered role with shift work as required.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated experience in a control room or real-time operations environment with responsibility for system control and operational outcomes.
- Proven ability to make sound, timely decisions in dynamic and time-critical environments where safety and system stability are paramount.
- Experience operating SCADA or equivalent control systems to monitor performance, respond to alarms, and manage network behaviour.
- Strong situational awareness, with the ability to interpret system data, anticipate issues and take decisive action to maintain control.
- Experience coordinating across systems, field teams and stakeholders to respond to incidents, manage events and resolve operational issues.
- A disciplined approach to operations, including adherence to procedures, escalation protocols and defined operating standards.
Clear and effective communication skills, particularly in high-pressure or incident scenarios requiring coordination and escalation.

High levels of accountability, resilience and consistency in a 24/7 operational environment.
