What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Piano Studies or be working towards a degree in Piano Performance or Pedagogy.
- Alternatively, hold a Diploma-level qualification from an internationally recognized music examination board.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of modern piano techniques, repertoire, teaching strategies, music theory, and general musicianship.
- Be able to play piano repertoire at an advanced level.
- Exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills, such as understanding, compassion, and the ability to engage and motivate students of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Enjoy working with young students and be a supportive team player.
- Have reliable transportation and maintain good health.
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident residing in Perth.
Responsibilities
As a Piano Educator, your role includes:
- Teaching one-on-one private piano lessons to students aged 4.5 and above.
- Guiding students up to AMEB Grade 8 Piano and Grade 4 Theory.
- Preparing students for performances, competitions, auditions, and AMEB music examinations (both practical and theory).
- Bringing creativity and a fun element to lessons.
- Being available to teach during the following hours: Weekdays: 2:00–8:00 PM | Saturdays: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM (Choose the days that suit you.)
