The Opportunity
We are seeking a financial crime analyst to join our Australia & Asia Financial Crime Team.
You will be a subject-matter expert and trusted adviser to the partnership and lawyers on financial crime compliance in respect of new business. This includes the application of the firm's AML/CTF policies and procedures concerning client & matter due diligence, risk assessments, complex and/or high-risk queries/ approvals for new business and reputational risk advice.
What you’ll do
Liaise with the practice groups and clients (where necessary) to:
Analyse and help manage the risks arising from the on boarding of new clients and matters.
Complete detailed CDD research on clients using a variety of different tools, including the analysis of structure charts and other materials to fully understand the ownership and control structure of the client.
Carry a range of operational activities that support the Firm in meeting its AML / CTF regulatory obligations.
Liaise with the other New Business Intake teams to ensure a joined up and efficient process for the practice groups.
Assist with continuous improvement and operational uplift projects.
What you’ll bring
Candidates should have a degree and/or be qualified in either CDD/Compliance or have worked in a Financial Crime environment in the regulated sector, or with a regulatory body or law enforcement.
Experience in handling complex and confidential matters, with total discretion.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies.
