Pressure Welder/Boilermaker
Power and Mining Services Pty Ltd are seeking skilled Pressure Welders/Boilermakers to join their team in Muswellbrook, NSW. This is a full-time opportunity to contribute to the company’s work in the trades and services industry.
The successful candidate must show a strong commitment to safety, communicate effectively, work independently and in a team environment.
Skills, Experience and Attributes
Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade letter of Proficiency or equivalent
Experience working on heavy mining equipment
Experience with oxy and air arc gouging
Daily Tasks
Read and interpret technical drawings and job instructions
Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
Fit steel plate and sections to form trays, tanks, frames etc
Cut, bend and shape metal parts using power tools
Assemble structural components using clamps, jigs, and tack welds
Weld joints, seams, and components per required specs or standards
Monitor heat levels to avoid warping or defects
Inspect completed welds and structures visually and with tools
Ensure PPE and tools are clean and stored correctly
Report defects, equipment faults, or safety issues to supervisor
