Senior Finance Business Partner

Expressions of interest are invited from ongoing and temporary employees within the NSW Public Sector who wish to be considered for this temporary role for a period up to 25 September 2026.
The Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP) will partner with the Ministerial and Opposition Leader’s Offices for the Premier’s Department, providing the Ministers’ Offices with financial information, tools, analysis and insights to challenge assumptions, support informed decision-making and shape business strategy. Working closely with key stakeholders, the role delivers sound advice that aligns financial management strategies with organisational objectives.

We're Looking For

Business partnering: Builds effective partnerships across the Premier’s Department and with external stakeholders to support the implementation of corporate financial management strategies and reforms.

Financial analysis and advice: Analyses information from multiple sources to provide accurate financial advice, performance reports and insights to staff, clients, senior management and external agencies.

Change and innovation: Champions new and updated financial management strategies, technologies, systems and business methods to improve service efficiency and effectiveness in line with departmental policies and protocols.

Relationship management: Develops sustainable customer and team relationships to build support for finance-related reforms and strengthen commitment to service delivery excellence.

Financial governance: Interprets and applies relevant government accounting procedures and policies, including the Treasurer’s Directions and the Government Sector Finance Act 2018.

Salary: Classification Grade 9/10. Package includes base salary ($133,348 -$146,94 plus superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
