We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Roof Plumber Supervisor to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, leading by example and mentoring the next generation of tradespeople.
You’ll be responsible for supervising metal roofing projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard while maintaining strong relationships with clients and the wider team.
About the Role
As a Roof Plumber Supervisor, you’ll oversee the installation and repair of metal roofing systems, including roof sheeting, flashings, gutters, fascia and downpipes. You’ll manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate your team and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with Australian Standards and company expectations.
You’ll also utilise our in-house job management software for project reporting, safety documentation and communication with the management team.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Plan, coordinate and deliver roof plumbing projects in accordance with project specifications and company standards.
Supervise daily site operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Monitor labour productivity, material usage and project budgets.
Identify and resolve on-site issues while minimising delays and cost impacts.
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, building codes and project requirements.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor and support apprentices, tradespeople and labourers.
Allocate daily tasks and manage workforce productivity.
Conduct pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
Provide ongoing coaching to maintain high standards of workmanship.
Foster a positive, professional and safety-focused team culture.
Safety & Compliance
Lead by example in maintaining an exceptional safety culture.
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company policies and site-specific requirements.
Complete SWMS, site inspections, safety documentation and incident reporting.
Maintain clean, organised and safe work sites.
Quality Assurance
Perform quality inspections throughout each stage of the project.
Ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations.
Rectify defects promptly and maintain excellent relationships with clients, builders and stakeholders.
Typical Daily Duties
Collect materials from the warehouse and safely load company vehicles.
Liaise with clients and site representatives where required.
Set up safe roof access and complete roof plumbing works including roof sheeting, battens, flashings, skylights, roof vents, gutters, fascia and downpipes.
Measure, fabricate and install custom flashings and other roof plumbing components.
Troubleshoot and resolve on-site challenges, escalating complex issues when required.
Complete daily reporting through our job management software, including progress updates and site photos.
Clean and organise work sites upon project completion.
Return unused materials to the warehouse.
Ensure company vehicles remain clean, organised and well maintained.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
Trade qualification in Roof Plumbing.
Extensive experience in metal roofing and roof plumbing.
Previous experience leading teams or supervising projects.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read plans and manage multiple priorities.
Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and WHS requirements.
Current driver’s licence (MR licence advantageous).
Construction White Card and Working at Heights certification (or willingness to maintain).
